Let New Life Begin

Watch this video and listen to testimonies of some of those who have resettled:

The journey to start life anew is not an easy one, especially when so much of your life has been tainted with grief and suffering.  The predominant feelings are to give up and give in.  This is very true for the people of northern Uganda.  Thankfully, though, they are beginning to see something new on the horizon and walk toward it into the way of life.

One of the coolest things about what happens with FTW is seeing people overcome, seeing them live out the strength God gives to have faith in the impossible becoming possible.  They light up as they watch life blossom in front of them.

They are learning to live in unity, with Jesus and with one another.  The fear of being alone and not able to do much on their own, whether because they are old or disabled or orphaned, is fading.  They are part of something bigger than themselves; they are in this venture together with others.

It is also really great watching the generations work together, especially as the younger ones learn and live with a positive view of life instead of one of despair.  No longer do kids in northern Uganda need to see death and hoplelessness all the time.  Now, they can see the people around them taking care of life in a worthwhile way.  They get to learn the life-skills the generation before them missed.

It truly is amazing to see people come alive.  May God be blessed and receive all the glory!  None of this newness and strength and opportuniy in the lives of people here would happen without His making it happen.  May His life be seen by all who look at what is happening here and see how He makes the impossible possible!

"Remove the yoke of oppression...Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble.  Then your llight will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.  the Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength.  You will be like a well-wtered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.  Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your towns.  Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes!" (Is. 58:9-12)
